Nelson Mullins partners Gary Brown and Erin Reeves McGinnis will speak at the Understanding the Securities Laws 2022 program, hosted by the Practising Law Institute. Brown, who co-chairs the program, will give opening remarks and will speak on several panels, including "Introduction to the Securities Laws – the Basics," "Registering Securities Under the Securities Act of 1933 – the Skills Needed by Securities Lawyers," and "Securities Act Exemptions." Reeves McGinnis will be a panelist for "Individual Liability for Corporate Officers, Directors, and Other Insiders."
Brown practices in the areas of securities compliance and corporate governance. In more than 30 years of practice, he has advised a wide variety of public companies in the areas of corporate governance, securities compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Reeves McGinnis focuses her practice on securities transactions, including public and private offerings of securities, 1933 Act filings, 1934 Act reporting, corporate governance, SEC compliance, FINRA compliance, and general corporate matters, with a specific emphasis on real estate investment trusts (REITs).
