Tech Team Members Participate in University of Florida Conference

EnCAP Analyst Augusta Thompson and Production Administrator Evan Benjamin participated in The University of Florida E-Discovery Week on March 28-30 in Gainesville, Fla. The conference is hosted by the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.

The UF Law Career Fest hosted presentations and networking opportunities on Wednesday for current law students to both see the arc of practicing e-discovery professional careers and then to connect, ask questions, and find potential internship and post-graduation opportunities with firms with expanded e-discovery practice groups, such as Encompass.

The sixth annual conference focused on Thursday on effectively managing the everyday case, with breakouts on analytics, data protections, and new tools. Together with other electronic discovery leaders around the country, Augusta and Evan were able to hear speakers that included several judges, such as Judge James Francis and Judge John Facciola, and well-known e-discovery speakers such as Craig Ball and George Socha.

The curriculum consortium on Friday, led by Professor Bill Hamilton, gathered professionals and educators together to create a comprehensive e-discovery course template that can be used by law school educators in teaching others about this booming field.
