Nelson Mullins Charleston partner Matt Austin will speak at South Carolina Hospital Association's Summer Leadership Summit. The Summit will be held on June 14 and 15 encompassing updates and discussions of the healthcare industry's top priorities.
It will include conversations around diversity, equity and inclusion, workforce and staffing, supporting candidates who support healthcare and state elections, legal analysis of recent clinical care and healthcare cases, and more.
Austin's panel, "Clinical Decision Making & Legal Implications: Analysis of Recent Case Law" will be held at the pre-conference experience on June 14 for SCHA members only. He will join two other healthcare-focused panelists, Special Counsel Darra Coleman of Nexsen Pruet, and CNO Patti Hart of MUSC Health. The panel will be moderated by Edward Bender, General Counsel for SCHA.
SCHA is a private, not-for-profit organization advocating for sound healthcare policies and legislation, facilitate collaboration to tackle problems, find and share innovations and best practices, and provide data, education, and business solutions to help members better serve their patients and communities.
Austin, a former Assistant United States Attorney, focuses his practice on healthcare and white collar criminal defense. He has tried several complex cases involving health care fraud, environmental crimes, whistleblower complaints, international money laundering, bank fraud, international maritime treaties, and human trafficking.
