            Partners Imperato, Hackworth Jones, Bittman Participated at the 2018 Consero Healthcare General Counsel Forum
Nelson Mullins partners Gabe Imperato, Mike Bittman and Nekia Hackworth Jones hosted the pre-forum Healthcare General Counsel Executive Roundtable on Saturday, October 27. The remaining conference schedule for Nelson Mullins partners was as follows:
On Sunday, October 28:
- Imperato and Bittman led a session on Liability and Compliance Risk, which examined health care liability and compliance risk through interactive discussions of hypothetical scenarios. The session topics included:
	- Responding to reports of non-compliance
- Risk management
- Self-disclosure; when and where?
 
On Monday, October 29:
- Imperato moderated a general session, “New Guidance on Fraud & Abuse: What the Policy Changes Mean to You," which addressed the following questions: 
	- What are the implications of the DOJ memo directing civil litigators not to use guidance documents issued by governmental agencies for the purposes of determining the merit of an ACEW matter?
- How will this impact False Claims Act cases?
- How does the policy change affect enforcement actions going forward?
 
- Hackworth Jones participated in a panel on "New DOJ Guidance on Healthcare Fraud & Abuse."
On Tuesday, October 30:
- Bittman moderated a general session panel, entitled “Promoting Ethical Behavior Within the Legal Department & Your Organization,” which covered questions like:
	- How do you motivate employees to comply with the Code of Conduct?
- How do you promote an atmosphere of ethical behavior with key stakeholders and outside counsel?
- How are you modeling a message around workplace integrity that resonates throughout the organization?
 
Throughout the forum, business meeting sessions between firm attorneys and the attending general counsel were scheduled based on submitted mutual requests to meet.
