He devotes his law practice to the representation of healthcare providers such as community hospitals, healthcare systems, academic medical centers, physicians, and physician groups, among others. He is a co-founder of the Rural Healthcare Initiative, a nonprofit collaborative of five firms whose combined expertise is focused on the disciplines required to reimagine successfully rural community healthcare.

Markus represents healthcare providers and related organizations across the country on regulatory compliance, reimbursement, licensure, and operational matters, with a special focus on issues surrounding health information privacy, security, and technology. She regularly advises clients on telehealth and other digital health initiatives and offers strategic advice on a wide variety of innovative care models.
