As part of its trade mission to the U.S., the UK Department of International Trade and representative technology companies visited Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta following their participation in FinTech South 2018. The event is a global exchange of insights, innovations, and trends fueling tomorrow's financial tech industry. Attracting international companies and speakers, FinTech South is an opportunity to engage with 400 FinTech companies employing more than 130,000 employees globally, generating $72 billion in revenues, and processing more than 118 billion transactions annually. Atlanta partner David Katz is co-chair of FinTech South 2018, which took place May 7-8 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
More than 16 UK technology companies joined Nelson Mullins for a roundtable discussion where introductions were made and descriptions of services shared along with objectives for participation in the trade mission. Nelson Mullins partner Doug Spear addressed the group on “Representing Venture-backed companies and the Atlanta Technology Market.” Nelson Mullins partners David Katz and Brad Rustin addressed “Legal and Regulatory Considerations and Recent Developments.”
“This was a great opportunity for us to highlight services that are available to UK tech companies that are interested in expanding into Atlanta and the US market in general,” Katz said. “I am very optimistic that we were able to further introduce these companies to Atlanta and assure them that services are available here to help them successfully grow in the Southeast market and beyond.”
