Dallas partner Sean McKenna will speak at the American Bar Association (ABA) Health Law Section’s National Managed Care Institute 2024 conference on Nov. 7 in New York, N.Y.
Alongside panelists Hilary Harlan, Managing Director of Stout, and Michael McCarthy, Senior Counsel of the Independence Blue Cross’ Litigation Department, McKenna will present the topic, “Managing Managed Care Enforcement.”
This presentation will provide an overview of commercial and government-managed care plans and regulatory/legislative requirements related to fraud and abuse. The panel will discuss how managed care plans use data to track fraud and the structure of strategic audits. Enforcement mechanisms and the basics of audit disputes and investigatory resolution will also be discussed.
The National Managed Care Institute is an annual educational symposium hosted by the American Bar Association's Health Law Section for attorneys in private practice, government service, and in-house that work in managed care and with risk-based healthcare entities of all types.
