Atlanta senior associate Jake Carroll will be speaking on the "Managing Engineering Liability and Risk in Georgia" webinar on Sept. 30, 2022, organized by HalfMoon Education Inc. The webinar is open to the public and will offer 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers licensed in Georgia.
The course will cover various topics that impact risk for engineers in Georgia such as contract law for engineers, professional liability law, reducing risk for yourself, your company and your clients, and minimizing risk by maximizing compliance with rules of professional conduct.
Carroll will lead the discussion on contract law for engineers, addressing general contract issues related to scope, payment, performance, and damages, and will provide practical tips on how to identify and analyze common liability-shifting contract provisions in the industry.
Carroll’s construction practice involves drafting and negotiating construction contracts and related professional services agreements on behalf of owners, contractors, architects, engineers, and sureties. Carroll currently serves as the chair of the Construction Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.
