Health Care Fraud and Applied Behavioral Analysis

Nelson Mullins partners Bart Daniel and Daniel J. Westbrook will be speaking at the 2021 Autism Law Summit in Columbia, S.C. Their presentation, "Health Care Fraud and ABA," will take place on the second day of this five-day event. Co-presenting with Daniel and Westbrook are Joe Griffith, Jr., Esq., Joe Griffith Law Firm; Debbie Barbier, Esq., Deborah B. Barbier Attorney at Law; Matthew Hubbell, Esq., Special Counsel, Duffy & Young; Lorri Unumb, JD, CEO, The Council of Autism Service Providers; Dan Unumb, JD, President, Autism Legal Resource Center; and CE Chair: Kristen Koba-Burdt, BCBA, LBA.

Daniel is a first–chair veteran trial lawyer, former U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina, and is past president for the National Association of Former United States Attorneys. His practice focuses on white collar and civil False Claims Act litigation, along with government and internal investigations.  

Westbrook is a partner in the Columbia office of Nelson Mullins, where he practices in the areas of healthcare law and business litigation. He has been a leader of Nelson Mullins’ nationally recognized pro bono program for more than 20 years and devotes hundreds of hours a year to providing access to justice for those who otherwise couldn’t afford it. 

The Autism Law Summit is an annual gathering of parent advocates, autism service providers, lawyers, individuals with autism, lobbyists, and legislators from across the United States who are interested in the politics and policy of autism spectrum disorders. Now in its 14th year, the Autism Law Summit creates space for interactive, high-level, expert-facilitated conversations on improving health insurance, Medicaid, and adult services.
