2025 NAHRO National Conference

Nelson Mullins partner Michelle Yarbrough Korb will join a panel on “Developing, Preserving and Acquiring Affordable Housing During Uncertainty” during the 2025 NAHRO National Conference. This interactive session will explore practical strategies for PHAs and affiliated nonprofits seeking to acquire LIHTC-financed developments at the end of their initial compliance period to preserve community assets while expanding their portfolios. The panel will examine the financial, regulatory, and operational considerations essential for successful acquisitions, including:

  • Evaluating properties (including rehabilitation needs) prior to year 15
  • Financing options and capital stack strategies
  • Navigating ROFRs and options
  • Strategies for successful partnership with developers and investors
  • Regulatory compliance considerations

Additionally, panelists will review transactions with less traditional financing that may serve as an example of how to preserve or develop affordable housing now.

Other panelists include:

  • Leah Eppinger – Executive Director and President, Housing Authority of the County of Dauphin and Affordable Housing Associates of Dauphin County
  • Ron Clewer – Market President - Community Revitalization & Public Housing Partnerships, Gorman & Company
