Atlanta senior associate Jake Carroll will be speaking at The Seminar Group’s Georgia Construction Law Seminar on Oct. 11, 2022 in Atlanta.
The seminar will focus on recent trends and issues facing the construction industry, including a discussion of the prosecution and defense of construction-related schedule, delay, and acceleration claims, drafting and negotiating construction agreements, preserving lien and bond rights, document management, and alternative dispute resolution.
Carroll will lead the discussion on Payment Bonds – An Effective Way to Get Paid! and will address statutory payment bonds on public projects, private payment bonds, identifying the proper claimant under a payment bond, providing proper notice and pursing claims on a payment bond, and potential defenses of the principal and surety.
Carroll’s construction practice involves pursuing and defending lien, payment bond, and performance bond claims on behalf of owners, contractors, and sureties. Carroll currently serves as the chair of the Construction Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.
