Nelson Mullins Orlando partner Mike Bittman will moderate a virtual panel discussion at the CONSERO Healthcare General Counsel Forum on March 10. The discussion, “Preparing for the Immediate and Long-Term Effects of COVID-19,” will focus on the significant court and administrative decisions affecting health systems, liability litigation, employment, and workers’ compensation issues.
Panelists include Susan James, WakeMed Chief Legal Officer; Steve Clifton, University of Kentucky Deputy General Counsel-Health Affairs; and Leo Reichert, WellStar Health System Executive Vice President and General Counsel. The forum is meant to address the challenges and stakes that come with managing the legal function of hospitals and healthcare systems.
Bittman is board certified as a specialist in Health Law and Healthcare Compliance. He represents hospitals, nursing homes, managed care companies, payors, pharmacies, medical equipment suppliers, home health agencies, and physicians. Bittman regularly presents on issues related to health law, such as false claims, Medicare and Medicaid, health facility operations, governance, medical records, health insurance, ERISA, managed care liability, peer review, and fraud and abuse.
