Partner Dan Newman is speaking on a panel at the Bench and Bar Conference in Miami. The panel will discuss Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement priorities and hot button issues such as unregistered crypto currency offerings, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) and general Issuer Disclosures, and Ponzi schemes and offering frauds. Newman will be joined by the SEC's deputy regional director for the Southeast Regional Office (SERO), the SEC's regional trial counsel for the SERO and Senior Trial Counsel, as well as other attorneys in private practice. There will also be a round robin discussing gatekeepers, insider trading, including shadow insider trading, and Regulation Best Interest and gamification.
Newman is an experienced litigator of complex commercial, securities, and construction matters in state and federal courts and before various arbitration forums. Newman represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of business and securities–related litigations, including commercial torts, contracts, shareholder derivative actions, class actions, and common law and statutory securities fraud actions.
