Nelson Mullins attorneys Cory Manning, Dan Newman, James Rollins, and Scott Sherman will be presenting at the 2021 Risk Management Conference hosted by the Independent Broker Dealer Consortium (IBDC) and Registered Investment Advisor Consortium (RIAC). 

Their presentation, "Are you Ready for your Reg BI Audit?" will discuss developments related to the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI) that went to effect in June 2020. Among other things, Reg BI created more stringent requirements that apply to broker dealer firms and securities brokers when recommending securities or strategies to retail customers.

The attorneys will further discuss what firms should expect when they are examined by regulators, regulatory enforcement and litigation developments related to Reg BI, and anticipated trends concerning where securities regulators may focus in the future with regard to Reg BI.
