Update on Sentencing and Corrections Law and Policy

Hosted by: American Bar Association

Nelson Mullins Miami of counsel Jon Sale will be joining a panel discussion titled "Update on Sentencing and Corrections Law and Policy" at the American Bar Association (ABA)'s White Collar Crime 2022 Conference in March at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

Sale will be joined by the following panelists: Hon. Charles Breyer, Michael Dreeben, Hon. Mary S. Scriven, and moderator James E. Felman. The panel will discuss the latest updates in sentencing law and policy, including the Commission’s new JASN data tool used to provide additional sentencing guidance to judges,  recent developments in corrections law, including the new PATTERN risk assessment tool used to determine eligibility for early release from federal imprisonment, as well as other issues involving the implementation of the First Step Act.

As a co-chair of the Firm's White Collar & Government Investigations Practice Group, Sale is a leading white collar criminal defense attorney who is one of two attorneys in the state of Florida designated by Chambers U.S.A. as an “eminent practitioner” in the white collar field. He recently received worldwide media attention for representing a former public official in the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry into President Donald J. Trump.

The National Institute on White Collar Crime has been attended by leading federal and state judges and prosecutors, law enforcement officials, defense attorneys, corporate in-house counsel, and members of the academic community. The faculty regularly includes some of the top members of the white collar bar in the United States and abroad. Among the audience are nationally-renowned lawyers, as well as many who are beginning to concentrate in the white collar area. Attendees have consistently given the Institute high ratings for the exceptional quality of its publication, the panelists’ presentations, the valuable updates on new developments and strategies, as well as the rare opportunity to meet colleagues in this field, renew acquaintances and exchange ideas.
