Atlanta partner Mark VanderBroek will speak at an upcoming American Bar Association franchising forum on "Avoiding and Litigating Claims in Advertising Franchised Products and Services." From FTC regulation and enforcement actions to false advertising claims and consumer class actions, advertising a franchise’s products and services has never been riskier or more complicated.
This workshop will provide an overview of advertising laws, regulations, risks, and best practices to avoid risks – including legal issues associated with digital marketing, social media, sponsored search engine advertising, and endorsements. VanderBroek and his colleague will also cover procedures that businesses should have in place to ensure that product and service advertising complies with the law and does not pose an unreasonable risk of consumer deception, frustration, or claims.
