A Funny Love Story: Non-Profits and Commercial Co-Ventures

Hosted by: Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC)

Greenville partner Jeff Gurney will be presenting at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Annual Meeting on the panel, “A Funny Love Story: Non-Profits and Commercial Co-Ventures,” in San Antonio, Texas on Oct. 24.

Along with Gurney, the panel will include Caroline Leary, chief operating officer and general counsel for the Environmental Working Group, Molly Stark, associate general counsel for Rainforest Alliance, Inc., and Danette Zaghari-Mask, associate general counsel for National Public Radio. The group will present a playful and humorous skit that helps depict the “love story” between non-profits and commercial brands. In the one-hour presentation, the group will also illustrate best practices and principles in cause marketing such as commercial co-ventures, sponsorships, and other fundraising efforts. The presentation will conclude with a question and answer session.

Gurney is at the forefront of automated vehicle law and focuses his practice at Nelson Mullins on the automated vehicle industry. Beyond this, he has a multifaceted and diverse practice, which includes private and public mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate governance matters, corporate and business entity law, non-profit law, taxation, and complex estate planning.

Originally founded in 1981 as the American Corporate Counsel Association, the ACC has expanded beyond the United States to become a global bar association that serves in-house counsel through different educational, advocacy, networking, and information incentives. The annual meeting is just one of these opportunities that members can take part in to further invest in their futures through ACC.
