Atlanta partner Jake Carroll will speak on the panel, "A Close Look at the Construction Contract," at the 28th Annual Georgia Affordable Housing Coalition Conference. It will be held at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa in Savannah, Ga., on March 28 at 3:55 p.m.
The panel will explore critical elements of construction development contracts—such as clarifying GMP, key terms (i.e., standard of care), escalation clauses, and scheduling concerns—to mitigate common pitfalls around responsibility and liability. Speakers will also examine how early dispute resolution and clear, upfront coordination can keep projects on track while protecting all parties involved.
Carroll’s practice covers a broad range of construction matters, from advising foreign manufacturers on multi-billion-dollar vehicle assembly and battery facilities, to representing lenders, developers, designers, and contractors in multifamily, industrial, and commercial construction projects nationwide. Carroll is the co-author of the Georgia Construction Law Handbook, a leading treatise published annually, and is a past chair of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Construction Section.
