During the 2024 Global Gaming Expo, Nelson Mullins partner Katherine Baker will speak on “Navigating the Intersection of Gaming and Financial Sectors”. This interactive session will explore the intricate legal frameworks surrounding gaming operators, banks, financial technology companies, and payment processors as well as the multifaceted challenge of integrating payment solutions within the gaming industry, including both cashless and digital currencies. Beyond dealing with current issues, this session will also look forward to future innovations such as AI and emerging technologies, as we dissect the implementation of the latest regulations and potential opportunities.

Baker leads the firm’s Gaming Industry Group at the firm and assists casino gaming, igaming, sports betting, and fantasy sports operators, vendors, and entrepreneurs to navigate the state and federal, commercial and tribal gaming landscape, including leveraging fintech solutions. She also represents clients in complex litigation matters in state and federal court, primarily in gaming-related disputes.
