2023 NaLA ACP and Lifeline Conference

Nelson Mullins partners John Heitmann and Joshua Guyan will each participate in speaking engagements at the National Lifeline Association’s (NaLA) and Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline Conference on Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Virgin Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

Both will serve as panelists for the NaLA talk titled "Fly-ins & Funding at Work: D.C. Fly-ins, Budget and Lobbying.” Heitmann will also host the “Federal Legal Update” and serve as a moderator for the “Hill & Political Update” and the “Glen Echo & PR Update” panels. Guyan will participate as a panelist during the Federal Legal Update segment.

NaLA is an industry trade group focused on connecting low-income Americans to essential communications services through the ACP and Lifeline programs. These two federal support programs provide eligible low-income consumers with discounts off monthly service, so that they have sustainable connectivity necessary to participate in our society, education and healthcare systems, and in the economy.

Heitmann is a leading advocate for mobile wireless service providers participating in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) administered ACP and Lifeline programs. He also counsels international and domestic entities ranging from start-ups to industry giants on regulatory strategy involving new business models and product offerings, policy, and compliance at the federal and state levels.

Guyan advises providers of wireline, wireless, Voice over Internet Protocol, and satellite services on domestic and international compliance and licensing, as well as Universal Service Fund (USF) requirements. He also advocates on behalf of clients at the FCC, before state commissions, and on Capitol Hill.
