2020 Carolinas Energy Law Seminar: Carolinas Energy Market Reform
Columbia partner Weston Adams will moderate the "Carolinas Energy Market Reform" panel at the 2020 Carolinas Energy Law Seminar, a virtual event hosted by E4 Carolinas.
In early 2020, legislators in South Carolina and North Carolina introduced bills to commission studies of electric market reform measures, which might include the formation of a regional transmission organization for the Carolinas or of an energy imbalance market. The panel will give:
- An update on the market reform study efforts in both states An explanation of what the studies will address
- A discussion of the potential statutory and regulatory changes that might be included in any ultimate reforms
- The policy merits of each side of the reform debate
Adams co-chairs the Energy Industry Group at Nelson Mullins and is on the Board of Directors for E4 Carolinas. He regularly acts as lead counsel for clients in the industry of alternative energy.
