Charleston partner Bart Daniel recently rejoined Nashville partner Bob Wade as a guest on Wade’s podcast, Stark Integrity, to tackle the two-part episode series, “Cybersecurity and the False Claims Act (FCA), Two Great Tastes that Taste Great Together: A Discussion with Bart Daniel, Partner, Nelson Mullins.”

In episode one, the pair set the stage and explore the origins of the False Claims Act, uncover intriguing statistics about whistleblowers, and examine how the June 2025 Trump executive order has shaped cybersecurity. With this, the episode takes a look into key cybersecurity certifications and wraps up with a fun look at the history of a classic candy bar.

Later, episode two warns to “beware of the enemy within.” Daniel and Wade discuss how to support outside contractors through the certification process, understand the importance of actively monitoring and addressing emerging vulnerabilities, and navigate how to disclose issues transparently while cooperating with authorities. The episode also explores cybersecurity’s place among the top three False Claims Act enforcement priorities and outlines best practices for conducting vulnerability testing.

Daniel is a first-chair veteran trial lawyer and is past president for the National Association of Former United States Attorneys. His practice focuses on both complex commercial and white collar litigation, along with government and internal investigations.

Wade advises healthcare organizations nationwide on Stark Law compliance, physician compensation structuring, fair market value analysis, commercial reasonableness assessments, self-disclosure strategy, and enforcement defense under the federal physician self-referral statute.

Doubling as “Captain Integrity” on his podcast, “Stark Integrity,” Wade hosts educational episodes about Stark Law and healthcare compliance. With over 200 episodes available to listeners, the podcast has earned rave reviews from its audience.
