Shanahan Law Group Transitions to Nelson Mullins

Raleigh Office Now Has More Than 30 Attorneys

RALEIGH (Dec. 1, 2020) -- The attorneys and paralegals from Shanahan Law Group joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough today in the Raleigh office at GlenLake One, 4140 Parklake Avenue, Suite 200, and they can be reached at 919.329.3800.

Shanahan Law Group was founded by former federal prosecutor Kieran J. Shanahan in 2001. The group’s attorneys provide sophisticated litigation and corporate legal services to a wide variety of clients. They regularly handle all types of civil litigation in state and federal courts. In non-litigation matters, they provide business advice, strategy, and guidance to small and medium-sized businesses as well as trust and estate services.

“The Shanahan attorneys are a nice complement to our Raleigh office and the firm,” said Nelson Mullins Managing Partner Jim Lehman. “They are all well known and well respected in the North Carolina business and legal communities.”

Shanahan, an experienced litigator who has tried more than 100 cases, handles complex, high-stakes cases. His practice includes banking matters, business disputes, employment, and construction matters, as well as class action, administrative, and federal white-collar defense matters. He also handles corporate compliance, professional licensing, and internal investigations for professionals and corporations under regulatory scrutiny.

“Kieran and his group are enhancing all our practices with their skill sets and established reputations,” said Raleigh Office Managing Partner Bob Wilson. “The transition has been smooth, and we are continuing to introduce the group to our clients and colleagues.”

Shanahan added: “This has been a hectic but exciting time. Our team has been welcomed with open arms by Nelson Mullins, and I am confident that our clients will be well served in this new home.”

Other attorneys joining Nelson Mullins from Shanahan Law Group are partners Brandon S. Neuman and John E. Branch III; of counsel Andrew D. Brown and Jeffrey J. Goebel; associates Jeffrey M. Kelly, Nathaniel J. Pencook, and Cassie A. Holt; and paralegals Christine Dillard, Sarah Strickland, and Christine McCaffrey. The practices of these professionals include advising businesses and individuals regarding matters ranging from strategic and risk management advice, regulatory and internal investigations, litigation, employment, business disputes, fraud, unfair competition, defamation, and federal and state constitutional questions.

The attorneys in the Nelson Mullins Raleigh office handle a range of practice areas, including the financing, acquisition, development, and leasing of commercial real estate, representation of public companies and start-ups, assisting manufacturing entities interested in moving into the state, providing guidance to the region’s many healthcare operations, and taking an active role in the day-to-day operations of state government.

Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 850 attorneys and government relations professionals with offices in 11 states and Washington, DC. For more information about Nelson Mullins, please visit www.nelsonmullins.com.
