Atlanta partner Rhys Wilson discusses common issues with merger & acquisition deals and how to overcome such problems in “Selling your Business: M&A Deal Killers & How to Avoid Them,” presented at the 2019 CEO Strategy Summit held on January 30, 2019. In his presentation, Wilson details the top three deal killers as accounting errors, tax problems, and botched exit plans. He provides in-depth analysis of the different types of errors within each deal killer and how these errors can be corrected and prevented. Wilson also explains the necessity of having accurate and compliant GAAP financials and the implications of the South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. decision on tax sales regulations and solutions. Lastly, Wilson provides insight to how to develop and implement an effective exit plan in order to avoid aforementioned deal killers and other common issues in M&A deal transactions.
