FinTech and Data Privacy

FinTech University Series

As we continue the FinTech University series, join the chair of Nelson Mullins FinTech and Regulation Practice, Richard Levin, and Nelson Mullins attorneys Brad Rustin, Mallory Acheson, and Elizabeth Donaldson for the one-hour session, "FinTech and Data Privacy." During this session, they will provide an overview of data privacy and securities concerns, as well as regulations, and how they affect the FinTech industry.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit will be sought for all attorneys who request such and certificates of attendance are available for CPE purposes. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.

Levin chairs the firm's FinTech and Regulation Practice. He advises clients on corporate, FinTech, securities, and regulatory issues.

Rustin chairs the firm’s Financial Services Regulatory Practice. He began his career as a litigator focusing on consumer financial services litigation and defense of regulatory claims against chartered and non-chartered financial institutions, finance entities, and money services business.

Acheson focuses on privacy and security compliance, technology transactions, and the intersection of data and electronic discovery issues. She helps clients navigate domestic and internal privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, TCPA, HIPAA, and GLBA.

Donaldson advises a variety of entities with regulatory and compliance matters related to the consumer finance industry, including state and federal consumer protection laws, regulation and licensing, anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act compliance, and traditional and non-traditional lending.
