Francis C. Pray, Jr., is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Charlotte where he practices in the areas of banking, finance, real estate and business transactions, with a particular focus on syndicated lending transactions. Mr. Pray is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Group and is the leader of the Finance practice within that Group.
Mr. Pray has represented both financial institutions and borrowers in a wide variety of transactions in a broad range of industries, including equipment leasing, manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications and media.
The co-author of Debt Financing for Technology Companies, Mr. Pray’s representative experience includes:

Extensive transactional lending experience on a national basis, including syndicated finance (both broad syndications and "club" deals), single bank lending, asset-based and cash flow lending, subordinated and mezzanine lending, real estate finance, synthetic leasing, structured finance, and troubled debt workouts and restructuring.

Extensive experience in real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and leases of real property on a national basis, including environmentally contaminated properties.

Substantial experience in general business transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of businesses and negotiation of a broad variety of business contracts.
Active in the community, Mr. Pray is a member of the boards of advisors of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and the University of North Carolina School of Law Center for Banking and Finance.
Mr. Pray earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Psychology from the University of Virginia, College of Arts and Sciences, in 1986.
