Noah H. Huffstetler, III is the managing partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Raleigh Office. He practices in the areas of healthcare law, administrative law, and business and appellate litigation. A member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mr. Huffstetler is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. 

From 1991 to the present, Mr. Huffstetler has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, including recognition in the areas of administrative law, appellate law, “bet the company” litigation, commercial litigation, and healthcare law. He was selected by that publication in 2010 as  Raleigh's Best Health Care Lawyer and for 2011 as Best Administrative Lawyer. In 2010, The Legal Media Group selected him for inclusion in its Guide to the Leading U.S. Healthcare Lawyers. Also listed in North Carolina Super Lawyers, Mr. Huffstetler is a member of the American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the American Health Law Association, the North Carolina Bar Association (first chairman, Health Law Section; Appellate Rules Study Committee) and the North Carolina Society of Healthcare Attorneys.  He has been selected as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. Huffstetler is a noted lecturer in healthcare law, having participated in programs sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Hospital Association, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Duke University Graduate Program in Healthcare Administration.  Active in the community, Mr. Huffstetler serves on the Board of Directors of St. Timothy’s School and the Executive Committee of the Triangle Heart Ball.  He is also a sitting member of the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Teachers and State Employees Health Plan.  He has formerly served on the Board of Visitors of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Boards of Advisors of the University of North Carolina School of Public Health and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the University of North Carolina Educational Foundation, and as a member of the North Carolina Commission on Business Laws and the Economy. 

In 1976, Mr. Huffstetler earned a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served as a member of the North Carolina Law Review.  In 1973, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina where he was a Morehead Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
