Heyward D. Bonyata is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in Columbia in the areas of electronic discovery, information management, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.
Ms. Bonyata counsels clients on a wide variety of electronic discovery issues, including development of defensible strategies for the preservation, collection, and production of electronically stored information; implementation of enterprise-level preservation and search and retrieval technology; and management of large-scale document review projects. She has also authored several articles in the area of electronic discovery.
As a part of the firm’s Drug & Medical Device group, Ms. Bonyata has been involved in pharmaceutical and medical device product liability, intellectual property, and pricing litigation.
Ms. Bonyata is a member of the Defense Research Institute and its Electronic Discovery and Drug and Medical Device Committees.
In 2007, Ms. Bonyata earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was named to the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe and was articles editor of the South Carolina Law Review. In 2004, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
