Brian P. Crotty is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. He practices in Columbia in the areas of business litigation and class action defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Crotty served on active duty as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps where he was a trial counsel and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Crotty is also admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, and before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Mr. Crotty is a member of the American Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association. He earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Widener University School of Law in 1996. During law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi's Harrington Inn Honor Chapter, the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society, and the Order of Barristers. Mr. Crotty was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and was named to its executive board and selected as most outstanding board member for the 1995-96 term. He received the Outstanding Service Award for the Class of 1996, the 1994 Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement, and Certificates of Achievement in Complex Litigation, Conflict of Laws, International Law and Equity. Mr. Crotty earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Dickinson College in 1992.
