Edward K. White is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia where he practices in the areas of corporate, partnership, healthcare, taxation and non-profit law. A member of the South Carolina Bar and its Tax Law Section, Mr. White is a Certified Specialist in Taxation, a designation awarded by the South Carolina Supreme Court. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina.

Mr. White provides a multidisciplinary approach to business transactions combining his accounting and tax background into a corporate practice. Mr. White has extensive experience in advising clients in business transactions, including organizational and operational matters for business entities, drafting contracts, employment agreements, handling the acquisition and disposition of business interests, mergers, acquisitions, structuring partnerships, joint ventures and other strategic relationships. Mr. White provides advice to both proprietary and non-profit organization on corporate and tax matters. In the healthcare industry, Mr. White has extensive experience with and regularly counsel's clients on a wide range of corporate, tax, employment and regulatory issues that affect healthcare transactions, including navigating issues that implicate the Stark law, the Anti-kickback statute and other Medicare and Medicaid laws that affect healthcare transactions. Mr. White has represented numerous hospitals in the formation and operation of integrated hospital and physician delivery systems, joint venture relationships, and other hospital/physician transactions. Mr. White has also represented numerous physician practices in structuring joint ventures, contractual agreements and strategic affiliations with hospitals and other healthcare providers.

Mr. White is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Richland County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association of CPAs.

Mr. White earned a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1982.
