The union released its policy playbook for the Biden administration that covers 27 topic areas. One of the main priorities is getting relief for schools, students, and educators. NEA is calling on the incoming administration to provide more funding for schools and universities, help for students without high-speed internet and devices needed for virtual learning, and budget support to rehire educators laid off during the pandemic. They also discuss expanding and simplifying the Public Service Loan Forgiveness and Teacher Loan Forgiveness programs; restoring civil rights protections; and providing more resources to students and communities with the greatest needs.
