Experience

  • Provides an array of real estate, land use and zoning services to his public and private sector clients, including property development, governmental coordination, negotiations, mediations, document preparation and closing acquisitions, title and survey matters, and appraisal analysis
  • Serves as a consultant and advisor to a number of major landowners in the development community, and has been involved with the acquisition and disposition of numerous apartment projects, large tracts and land developments in Central Florida

Previous Professional Experience

  • Former Chairman, the Central Florida Expressway Authority (formerly known as the Orlando–Orange County Expressway Authority)
    • Responsible for overseeing expansion of the system, implementation of electronic tolling and the start of the western expressway, a $400 million project
    • Supervised the successful refinancing of all outstanding debt, the issuance of new project financing and the structuring of escrows to help make the Authority more efficient, in addition to creating substantial savings
  • Co–founded the Transportation and Expressway Authority Membership of Florida (TEAMFL), an organization consisting of all the toll agencies in Florida, intended to help in the exchange of information about the toll industry in the state
  • Served as City Attorney for the City of Orlando following his appointment as Chair of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Transition Team, which led to a major reorganization of the Orlando City government
  • Has served as Special Counsel to the Mayor
  • Served as Chair of the Orange County Housing Finance Authority, an agency that provides tax–exempt financing for single family and multi–family affordable housing
  • Has been a private developer in Central Florida, and co–founded a real estate development firm that specialized in single family and multi–family projects
