Additionally, Matt’s regulatory compliance practice focuses on white collar litigation, including government and internal investigations for clients in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, and education. He represents clients in defending actions under the federal False Claims Act and similar state statutes. Matt also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations, compliance reviews, and risk analysis to assist clients both on responding to government inquiries as well as acting proactively to improve their operations.

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Matt worked as an associate for an international law firm, focusing on representing clients in government regulatory and compliance matters. Matt’s previous experience as a solo in-house counsel for a 700+ patient bed, two-anchor hospital system also provides substantial familiarity with the specific challenges and considerations affecting healthcare organizations and practitioners.
