  • Appeared on behalf of clients including commercial debt holders, lending institutions, insurance carriers, manufacturers, universities, and contractors in state and federal courts in North Carolina, in private arbitrations, and before agencies and the Office of Administrative Hearings
  • Represented lenders in connection with commercial non-judicial foreclosure proceedings and in multi-million dollar actions to recover on secured and unsecured commercial notes and guaranties
  • Represented insurance companies in litigation concerning coverage under commercial general liability and life insurance policies
  • Represented businesses in commercial contract disputes and tort actions. As way of example, obtained a jury verdict in favor of a lender in action seeking reformation of contract; obtained summary judgment for a major big box retailer facing negligence allegations in wrongful death action stemming from the death of two patrons in a parking lot; and obtained dismissal of actions alleging breach of warranty, fraudulent concealment, and unfair and deceptive trade practices against a major automotive distributor
  • Represented physicians in lawsuits regarding restrictive covenant
  • Represented university students seeking classification as residents for tuition purposes
