Dodie Renfer is Senior Government Relations Consultant with the North Carolina government relations practice. She has over 25 years experience in political and governmental affairs at the federal, state, and local levels. She has led the development, outreach, and fundraising efforts for numerous elected officials, candidates, political organizations, and nonprofits, including U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, Speaker of the House Thom Tillis, Rep. David Rouzer, the NCGOP, the John Locke Foundation, and the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders. 

She has extensive experience in monitoring and analyzing state and federal legislative activities and is well-known for maintaining bipartisan relationships with policymakers. Ms. Renfer earned her Master’s Degree in Political Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership.

As part of the N.C. Government Relations Team, Ms. Renfer consults on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters.

  • Worked in executive-level positions for Republican elected officials and/or candidates including:
    • Finance Director – Congressman George Holding (NC-13)
    • Political Director – David Rouzer for Congress (NC-7)
    • Director of Operations – Speaker Thom Tillis (NC)
    • Director of Coalitions/Fundraising – Senator Elizabeth Dole Committee (NC)
    • Director of Statewide Coalitions/Fundraising/Scheduling – Fred Smith for Governor (NC)
  • Political Director for the North Carolina State Republican Party
    • Organized and supervised the NC State Republican Convention, including grassroots and fundraising efforts
    • Liaison between the state party and 100 county GOP organizations, including all affiliate clubs
  • Vice President for the Center for Citizenship, Enterprise and Government (CCEG)
    • Developed the “E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders” program on behalf of the CCEG organization; the year-long fellowship was initially designed to enhance the communication and networking skills of individuals interested in running for political office
