  • Responsible for developing government relations strategies aimed at strengthening support for clients' interests in congressional and administrative activities
  • Represents clients before Congress and the Executive Branch

Previous Professional Experience

  • Former Chief of Staff in the Office of Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education
    • Managed and was a leader of the department's national education outreach initiatives with educators, business and community leaders, and elected officials at the national, state and local levels
    • Represented the Secretary of Education on various boards and committees including the American Red Cross and the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and served on the Labor Management Partnership Council
  • Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Education while at the U.S. Department of Education
  • Legislative Assistant to U.S. House of Representatives member Butler C. Derrick
    • Responsible for state and federal issues on transportation, public works, economic development, grants and special projects
    • Managed policy issues related to legislation for consideration on the House floor and assisted in organizing task forces to monitor support of key legislative initiatives
  • Staff Assistant to the Chief Deputy Majority Whip in the U.S. House of Representatives
