Four Nelson Mullins litigators have received recognition for their professional excellence in the 2025 edition of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Litigators in America list. The four partners selected are Baltimore partners Deborah St. Lawrence Thompson and Michael A. Brown, Columbia partner David E. Dukes, and Pittsburgh partner Thomas S. Jones.
Thompson and Brown were each recognized for their work in product liability, mass tort and employment. Dukes was selected for product liability, intellectual property, and class actions. Jones was recognized for complex business litigation and investigations.
Thompson litigates in the areas of products liability defense, mass tort, and employment law defense in jurisdictions around the country. She specializes in Title VII and ADA litigation and traditional labor law.
Brown handles complex cases in jurisdictions around the country. He has experience in the areas of products liability defense, mass tort litigation, employment law, medical malpractice, and insurance defense, as well as commercial and real estate litigation matters.
Dukes practices in the areas of business litigation, technology litigation, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, patent litigation, securities litigation, and coordination of national litigation.
Jones focuses on complex commercial litigation, securities matters, board-level disputes and corporate investigations, and energy litigation. He has represented global and domestic clients across multiple industries for nearly 30 years.
The publication chose attorneys who excel in representing corporations and other organizations in litigating claims involving antitrust, securities, financial, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and patents, product liability, mass tort, white collar, government investigations and energy disputes. Selections were based on research covering recent cases, defense verdicts and settlements. The firm's attorneys were four of almost 3,000 in the United States that were selected for the list.
