NASHVILLE – Senior associate Woods Drinkwater of the Nashville Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP office has been named the 2023 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee & The Cumberlands.
Drinkwater is being recognized for his work to support the collaborative Tennessee Adult Conservatorship Pro Bono Project by representing low-income parent(s) or caregiver(s) to petition the court for legal conservatorship over developmentally disabled young adults and aging family members, so family members can continue to make important decisions about health, education, finances, and basic safety. Through his efforts over the past few years with the Conservatorship Program, Drinkwater has brought decision-making relief to many families.
In his primary practice, Drinkwater focuses on commercial litigation with a focus on real estate, as well as land use, zoning, and real estate development.
