Two Experienced Real Estate/Energy Attorneys Join Nelson Mullins in Raleigh

RALEIGH – Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced today that two lawyers have joined the Firm in the Raleigh office as partners. Elizabeth C. Trahos and Brett T. Hanna, who were previously partners at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, have practices that focus on real estate and energy.

“We are very pleased to have Beth and Brett bring their experience to Nelson Mullins,” said firm Managing Partner James K. Lehman. “They will enhance our real estate and energy offerings, and they are a great addition to our Firm.”

Trahos focuses her practice on land use development and has been involved in projects that have led to more than 200 utility-scale solar farms. A veteran in the area of general commercial real estate development, she also has experience in government regulation and estate planning.

Hanna also has experience in land use development for solar farms and also has corporate experience in a wide range of commercial transactions, including a recent purchase of a regional drug store chain. Additionally, he has had representations regarding the mortgage industry crisis.
