LOS ANGELES – Shawtina F. Lewis, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Los Angeles office, has been selected as a member of the 2021-2022 class of the National Bar Association’s Top 40 Under 40 – Nation’s Best Advocates.
Winners will be honored at a virtual ceremony on July 24, 2021.
Lewis represents industrial and automotive companies in a broad array of litigation. Her practice includes the defense of breach of warranty matters, claims that stem from alleged exposure to toxic substances and general litigation matters. She also provides outside general counsel services for a historic women’s service organization, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She has also been involved in significant pro bono matters, including immigration and civil rights work.
She joined Nelson Mullins in 2018 as of counsel and was promoted to partner in December 2020. Her impressive client service won her a spot in the High Potentials Program, a two-year program for women partners who have been identified by firm leadership based on legal skills and high business development potential.
According to the organization, these awards recognize the nation’s top lawyers under age 40, who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and community involvement. Winners include lawyers from large, medium and small law firms, solo practitioners, government lawyers, corporate counsel, judges, academics, elected officials, and other lawyers.
