COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina Alumni Association’s Board of Governors has elected Charleston partner Elizabeth Scott Moïse as president. As president of the Alumni Association Board, she will also serve on the university’s Board of Trustees.
A volunteer organization, the University of South Carolina alumni group provides advice and support in developing and implementing programs and services of the alumni association. Moïse joined the board in 2015.
Moïse practices in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith, products liability defense, and appellate law. She received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the university and has remained active with the school during her professional career. She has served as a law school adjunct faculty member for many years and is a member of the South Carolina School of Law Alumni Council. She has chaired and served as a member of the university’s Board of Visitors and is a former officer of the Charleston Chapter of USC's Alumni Association. The law school has honored her with the Compleat Lawyer Award for outstanding civic and professional accomplishments and the S.C. Law Review Distinguished Alumni Award.
The Board of Governors is chartered to guide and oversee the operations of the Alumni Association. As some of South Carolina’s most engaged alumni, board members present ideas, lead committees, and drive the engagement operation for over 300,000 living alumni. With 17 members, the Board of Governors represents Gamecocks from each Congressional District across the State of South Carolina, as well as four board members who represent Gamecocks across the United States.
