Nelson Mullins’ Healthcare Practice Earns National and State Recognition in 2021 Chambers USA Guide

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s healthcare practice earned a national ranking in the latest edition of the Chambers USA Guide.

According to Chambers, Nelson Mullins has a “well-regarded healthcare team increasingly recognized for its nationwide capabilities. Significant experience in handling transactions, complemented by longstanding regulatory expertise. Also noted for its strength in disputes such as qui tam actions, drawing on wider trial skills as well as the ability to tackle large-scale investigations.”

On a state level, Nelson Mullins’ healthcare lawyers earned Band 1 practice area rankings in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Band 1 is the highest tier that a firm or individual can achieve in Chambers’ ranking tables. The team also earned a ranking in Georgia for the first time this year.

Overall, 14 Nelson Mullins healthcare attorneys earned individual rankings, and seven earned Band 1 individual rankings, including Moran, Gabe Imperato (who leads the Firm’s Healthcare Litigation Team); Lester J. Perling, Noah Huffstetler III, Trish Markus, and Bob Wilson.

According to Chambers, rankings are based on interviews with law firms and clients. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client, according to the publisher. The new rankings are the latest accolade during a busy year for the Nelson Mullins Healthcare team, including the recent news of Markus being selected as the next President-Elect Designate of the American Health Law Association, the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field.

The Firm’s healthcare team has grown to consist of over 65 members, including the recent addition of an experienced cybersecurity and data breach team, led by Greenwood.
