Nelson Mullins’ Ed Rubinoff Receives Top Ranking in Chambers and Partners 2019 Global Guide

Chambers & Partners

WASHINGTON, DC – February 14, 2019 -- Legal directory Chambers and Partners has recognized Edward L. Rubinoff, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Washington, DC office, as a Band 1 practitioner for International Trade:  Export Controls & Economic Sanctions in its Chambers Global 2019 Guide, which was released this week.

Band 1 is the top designation the rankings organization bestows on practitioners, and Rubinoff is one of only 11 attorneys to receive the designation in that practice area.

A recognized authority on U.S. international trade control laws, Rubinoff also ranks as a Band 1 practitioner in Chambers USA Guide and has been top ranked in both publications each year since the rankings began in 2005. He counsels domestic and foreign companies on compliance with trade control laws, conducts internal investigations and audits, designs and assesses compliance programs, and represents clients in civil and criminal enforcement cases.

As a former member of the President’s Export Council’s Subcommittee on Export Administration, Rubinoff advised the president and the U.S. government on the development and implementation of U.S. export controls and security-related trade. He is a past chair of the Export Control and Economic Sanctions Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law and Practice, a member of the section’s Board of Directors, and editor-in-chief of the section’s newsletter. He also served as a director for the Lawyers Alliance for World Security and was nominated to serve on binational dispute resolution panels under Chapter 19 of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

According to Chambers and Partners, rankings are based on interviews with law firms and clients. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client, according to the publisher.
