Nelson Mullins Attorneys Shane Ramsey and Steven Shparber Shortlisted for 2019 Euromoney Awards

Euromoney Legal Media Group

Euromoney Legal Media Group has shortlisted Nelson Mullins attorneys Shane Ramsey and Steven Shparber for its 2019 Rising Star Awards. Winners will be announced Sept. 12, 2019 at an event in New York.

Euromoney's Rising Stars Awards are presented to lawyers under the age of 40 across a number of practice areas who are leaders in their fields. The awards further highlight the progress of law firms in recruitment policies, mentoring, talent management, and succession planning. Ramsey was shortlisted for Best in Bankruptcy Litigation, and Shparber for Best in Energy, Natural Resources, and Mining. Each is among five other attorneys shortlisted in their respective categories.

Ramsey has distinguished himself as a leading bankruptcy and financial restructuring professional practicing all over the country, and he has argued some of the most high-profile cases in recent years. Chambers USA selected him as a Recognized Practitioner in bankruptcy litigation in 2019. Ramsey has also served on and led several committees of the American Bankruptcy Institute over the years and is vice chair of Nelson Mullins’ Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group.

As a member of the Firm's Energy & Utilities Industry group, Shparber focuses his practice on creating new opportunities for providers of renewable energy and emerging technologies in the power sector. He co-founded the Solar RTO Coalition in 2018, a group of developers and capital providers of large-scale solar projects that combined with the American Wind Energy Association in 2019. In representing the combined interests of the wind and solar industries before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the nation’s Regional Transmission Organizations, Shparber is involved in advocating for changes that will have a profound impact on future opportunities for renewable energy across the U.S.
