Nationally Recognized Attorney Robyn Nordin Stowell Joins Nelson Mullins in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced today that Robyn Nordin Stowell has joined the firm as a partner in its Greenville, S.C. office. A highly experienced real estate and business attorney, Stowell is one of only a handful of attorneys recognized nationally in the hospitality and resort industries for her focused experience in golf course and private club matters. At her prior firm she headed the Golf, Resorts, and Private Clubs Practice.

Stowell works closely with private clubs, golf resorts, developers, borrowers, lenders, and member groups on a wide variety of transactions, assisting clients with club turnovers; equity conversions; the purchase, sale, and financing of golf and resort assets; structuring of member-financed renovation and expansion programs; contract negotiations; and the sale of amenities valued in the tens of millions of dollars. She regularly counsels clubs on governance and membership issues. She also advises clients on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, restructuring of club operations and membership offerings, cybersecurity and data privacy, best practices in operations, and settlements involving real estate, golf course, and club litigation.

“We are pleased to welcome Robyn to our growing club industry practice,” said Michelle Tanzer, who joined Nelson Mullins in 2019 to form and chair the Global Club and Branded Residences Team. “Robyn’s depth of experience as well as her ability to develop creative solutions that address the unique challenges clients face in the hospitality and resort industries during these unprecedented times will be a great asset to our team.”

An industry leader recognized by Golf Inc., BoardRoom Magazine, and Club Managers Association of America, Stowell is a former board member of the National Club Association and a regular speaker for the Club Management Association of America. She earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1988 and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Kansas.

Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 850 attorneys and government relations professionals with offices in 11 states and Washington, D.C. For more information on the firm, go to www.nelsonmullins.com.
