CHARLOTTE – Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced today that Zoë Gamble Hanes has joined the Firm as of counsel in Charlotte. She joins from Pine Gate Renewables LLC, where she was chief executive officer and president. While there, she oversaw the development of 1,000 megawatts of solar projects in 12 states and managed more than 350 megawatts of operating solar assets.
Hanes’ practice focuses on project finance, regulatory matters, business and operational strategy, public policy, and business execution. She has experience leading and overseeing greenfield development, project level diligence, asset sales and purchases, deal structuring, capital raising for projects and companies, construction, and asset management. Since 2008, she has contributed to more than 1,000 megawatts of solar assets placed in service and raised approximately $2 billion in project and corporate finance.
Before joining Pine Gate Renewables, she was general counsel and vice president for FLS Energy, which sold to Cypress Creek Renewables in 2016. She also has worked as a special counsel for Winston-Salem law firm Blanco Tackabery, where she was actively involved in structuring the monetization of the North Carolina renewable tax credit. Hanes has served on multiple boards and industry matters for energy, the environment, and leadership initiatives.
