Environmental Attorney Noelle Wooten Joins Nelson Mullins in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE – Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced today that environmental attorney Noelle E. Wooten has joined the Firm as a partner in the Charlotte office. She joins the Firm from Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP.

Wooten counsels clients in several areas of environmental and product regulation law, including environmental litigation, environmental due diligence, risk assessment and negotiation strategies in real estate transactions, and environmental compliance and regulatory counseling in matters involving hazardous substances, waste management, chemical control, pharmaceutical and retail product management, and drug packaging. Wooten is also a trained mediator.

“We welcome Noelle to our litigation team and look forward to sharing her environment and product regulation experience with our clients,” said Charlotte Managing Partner Tracy E. Tomlin. “Her experience in solving litigation matters involving complex toxic tort issues, private party disputes, and administrative penalty matters will be a great asset to our team and clients.”

Wooten negotiated one of the first prospective purchaser agreements under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Initiative. Before law school, she was an environmental protection specialist at EPA’s Office of Solid Waste, where she wrote portions of the 1990 Toxicity Characteristic Rule and served as co-chair for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act / Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Policy Issues Committee.

She is a  graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 1992) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (B.A., Chemistry, magna cum laude, 1988).
