Boston—Commercial and bankruptcy litigation attorney Jason Watkins has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as a partner in its Boston office. He joins Nelson Mullins from State Street, where he was senior counsel and head of legal for the recovery and resolution planning group. Prior to that, he served as an independent compliance monitor for public and private companies and as principal at a professional strategy firm specializing in engagement with directors of public company boards.

Watkins earned his JD from Harvard Law School and his AB from Harvard College in government, cum laude, where he was a member of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps and a cast member in the Hasty Pudding Theatricals. After earning his undergraduate degree and before entering law school, he served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy.
