Nelson Mullins partner Christopher Hanson was selected along with three other Greenville area residents to participate in the 2023 class of Leadership South Carolina. Participants were nominated for their exceptional commitment to their communities and were selected from more than 300 applicants statewide. Hanson will participate in the nine-month program designed to focus on critical issues facing South Carolina.

Hanson leads the firm’s U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Regulatory Compliance & Litigation practice group. He assists clients with regulatory issues involving medical devices, human and animal drugs, food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, radiation-emitting electronic products, and clinical laboratories. He has aided clients in consequential interactions with federal, state, and foreign regulatory agencies, including the FDA, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Hanson sits on the Board of Directors and serves as the Legal Officer of the Executive Committee of SCBIO, South Carolina’s public/private life sciences industry association.
