After her recent historic election to become the first AAPI president of the Atlanta Bar Association, Nelson Mullins partner Amy B. Cheng was featured by Atlanta Magazine in the publication's series: Women Making a Mark 2023 -- in an article posted to the magazine's site on May 16, 2023. In the feature Cheng discussed her practice at Nelson Mullins and "is mentoring the next generation of lawyers and advocating for inclusivity in law." Cheng will also be featured in the June 2023 issue of the magazine, which will hit news stands soon.
In early 2023, Cheng was selected by Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta’s premier general interest publication, as an honoree for its 2023 Women Making a Mark program for her significant contributions to the local community. In April 2022, Cheng was selected as an "On the Rise" honoree for the 2022 Georgia Legal Awards, recognizing Georgia’s most promising lawyers under the age of 40. A native of Charleston and proud graduate of Emory University (Bachelor of Science), University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, and Emory University School of Law, Cheng joined Nelson Mullins in 2018.
An experienced and fervent litigator, Cheng has defended individuals, companies, and higher education institutions in a wide range of labor and employment, business litigation, white collar defense, and government investigations matters.
